PMC Diploma Intensive Course

This is a 10 day course.

Many students travel large distances to train with us and have asked for the Diploma to be run as a single course. To meet this need, we've created the 10 day Diploma Intensive Course.

This course covers all four grades of the Diploma back-to-back. Days one and two cover the Beginners PMC Diploma syllabus. Days three, four and five cover the Intermediate PMC Diploma syllabus.

Day six is a free day, designed to give you time to recap on what you've learned and revisit any elements of the first five days that you feel you need to. There's no formal teaching on this day but the training room will be open for you to use the equipment. There will also be some optional guidance for you on what you might like to do on this day.

Days seven and eight cover the Advanced PMC Diploma syllabus and days nine and ten cover the Teaching PMC Effectively syllabus.

As its name suggests, this course is intensive and moves at a very fast pace. Because of this, it's not suitable for beginners. You must be familiar with working with metal clay to attend the Intensive course.

The course has over £200 of materials included in the cost. You also get extensive notes, suppliers' information and a useful tool kit to take home.

The Mid Cornwall School of Jewellery has designed the very first independent qualification for working with Precious Metal Clay (PMC).

If you want to teach classes or work seriously with PMC, this is currently the most thorough training you can get anywhere in the world.

The Diploma in PMC Proficiency is free from any association with marketing, discounts or any particular supplier. Therefore it is the first truly independent qualification and sets the new standard for excellence within the PMC world.

The course is recognised by the PMC Guild International and in fact the grades of competency actually exceed the minimum requirements suggested by the PMC Guild.

Gaining this Diploma shows a high level of commitment to your work. It will add credibility to your CV and the Competency Certificates will act as a record of your achievements along the way. Your name will be registered and displayed on the Diploma Graduates page of the Mid Cornwall School of Jewellery website.

Upon completion of all four grades, artists will be entitled to use the registered letters after their names. For example, Mary Maker, MCSJ Dip. PMC

Your tutor for this class will be Lisa Cain or Julia Rai
