Stained Glass Jewellery Class
This is a one or two day class.
The class will be 'hands-on' throughout with plenty of demonstration and practice. You will learn basic Tiffany techniques enabling you to design and construct items of colourful glass jewellery to take home. You will be given a list of suppliers and a reading list, which you should find helpful for future reference.
Your tutor will show you samples of finished pieces of jewellery so you can discuss what is possible to achieve. You will look at aspects of design, working constraints and choosing appropriate glass to work with. Your tutor will guide you through the methods used including cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering and finishing. You will be making colourful decorative pieces into a variety of jewellery.
You will also be shown how to drill holes in glass using a bench drill and diamond tipped drill bits. You will be using ready made findings such as earring hooks which will be available for sale from your tutor or you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Please note that on the one-day course, fewer items will be made to enable completion of pieces.
