Information about Marion

My journey with jewellery began many years ago after taking some classes. I have been a potter for ever, but felt I wanted to explore new materials and move into jewellery. I began with some traditional silversmithing and still make a lot of my rings out of the lost wax technique. After some years I discovered that Metal Clay offered me the flexibility and liberation I was looking for to begin designing and making wearable pieces of art.

I love mixing media according to the piece I have in mind and am always experimenting with new combinations and incorporating found objects. Metal clay now forms an integral part of my work, providing infinite textural and three dimensional opportunities. It also enables me to engage with a wide range of students with differing ideas and skills to translate their ideas into unique pieces in a very short time with great results.

I run a number of classes and workshops including Silver, Bronze and Copper Metal Clays, Glass Fusing, beading and wirework.

Marion's Qualifications and Experience

I hold the Mid Cornwall School of Jewellery Diploma in Silver Metal Clay, Level 1 Art Clay Certification and hope soon to complete Level 2 which will give me the final qualification for the Higher Diploma with MCSJ. I am an advanced teacher of glass fusing, beading techniques and wire work.
