Silver Spoon with Keum Boo Gold
This is a two day class.
We will be exploring the design of silver spoons; looking at their function, balance, design and construction.
A variety of construction methods will be explored including a moulded spoon, separate bowl and spoon elements or forming from one piece of clay. Carving, stone setting and other decorative embellishments will be covered.
The spoons will be fired overnight and then we will add Keum Bo gold to the bowl and stem depending on your design. Various finishing
techniques will include, polishing, burnishing, liver of sulphur patina and more. This course will cover the skills required to make specific pieces for the Metal Clay Masters Registry.
Please Note
The images on this page are examples of spoons submitted to the Masters Registry. We will not be copying the design of any of these spoons in this class. Masters Registry rules state that the design must be unique so it may be useful for you to think generally about the design and texture of your spoon before you come.
