Cancellation Policy and Safety Policy

 

When you book a place you are agreeing to all terms and conditions below.

 

Our jewellery making classes are in demand and places are limited. If you need to cancel please give as much notice as possible.

 

PLEASE MAKE SURE WE HAVE A CONTACT NUMBER FOR YOU WHEN YOU BOOK (preferrably a mobile number).

 

We regret that we cannot offer refunds or transfers on any of our courses if you are unable to attend.
COVID-19 EXCEPTION (until 2022) If you experience Coronavirus symptoms or have been exposed to someone with the virus, please contact us ASAP so we can transfer you to a future class once you’ve had the ‘all clear’.

 

Please always phone to let us know if you can't attend or are going to be late.

 

 

In the unlikely event that MCSJ have to cancel a class, you will be offered a transfer or a refund.
COVID-19 EXCEPTION (until 2022) classes which are postponed during the pandemic cannot be refunded but we will always transfer you to another date.

 

Our class descriptions on the website explain the content of the class, the level of previous experience required and any additional costs you may incur in class.
It is your responsibility to ensure you book on a relevant class and fully understand what is involved, any additional costs and our terms and conditions.
If you're in doubt, please contact us before booking.

 

We are currently not wheelchair accessible and students with disabilities should enquire about the suitability of the courses prior to booking.
If you book a class and you know you have mobility or other issues which may impact on your ability to attend, then subsequently cancel, no refund will be given.
It is your responsibility to ensure you fully understand our accessibility limitations before you book.
We're happy to discuss your options before booking.

 

Please note, if you secure your place on a class by paying a deposit, the deposit you paid is non-refundable.

 

Wedding Rings - payment to secure the date to make your own wedding rings is non-refundable.
If you subsequently cancel the booking, no refund will be given.
If you cancel and have paid for the metal for your rings and we have bought it, we will send you the metal.
No cash refund will be given for metal.

 

        If you are booked on a class, wedding ring day or course and you do not turn up on the day, no refund will be given.

 

If we find it necessary to cancel a course we will give you as much notice as possible.
However, MCSJ cannot be held responsible for your travel, accommodation or other costs.

 

We strongly suggest you take out travel insurance and you ensure it covers everything including the class costs should you have to cancel

 

MCSJ Safety Policy

 

We have an excellent safety record here at MCSJ.
Please be aware that when you book a class, you are automatically agreeing to our cancellation policy and to our safety policy.

 

Clothing 
No open toe shoes or sandals in the studio. 
Shorts and bare legs are not allowed. 
NO EXCEPTIONS.
Please be practical when choosing your workshop clothes (avoid highly flammable materials, floppy sleeves or scarves)
Long hair should be securely tied back.
 
 
We have a safe working environment.
If you arrive and we consider you to be incapable of working safely due to alcohol, drugs, general ill-health, fatigue, or another reason, you will be asked to leave the class with no refund.
We reserve the right to exclude any student we feel may be a danger to themselves, the tutor or other students.

 

Covid-19 Special Measures in place until at least 2022

We reserve the right to postpone classes in the best interests of our staff and students when necessary.

Fans and other methods of ventilation will be in full use in the classroom, which may cause drafts so please wear layers to keep warm.

 

We will not be offering on-site accommodation until 2022

 

Masks
Jewellery classes require close proximity and we will continue mask wearing in our studio for the rest of 2021.
NO EXCEPTIONS
Students and tutors will wear a mask at all times (covering nose and mouth).
Please bring your mask with you. 

 

Contact 
Students and teachers will use hand sanitizer and/or wash hands regularly.
Please sanitise/wash your hands on arrival and any other time you enter our building.  
Hand sanitizer is highly flammable and must be kept away from the soldering area and any other flames.
Tools, equipment and high contact areas will be sanitised regularly. 
We do not recommend the use of rubber/latex or plastic gloves for general use in class. 

 

Class bubbles 
Your lesson will take place within an exclusive class bubble, with adequate time between each class for cleaning. 
We will retain your contact information in a safe manner in case we need to contact you after your class.  
Until 2022 we will only be teaching one-to-one classes (or one couple for wedding rings)

 

The kitchen area at MCSJ is closed until 2022
You are welcome to bring a flask of tea/coffee or a water bottle with you but mugs/cups/glasses are not available for use at MCSJ.  
Tea, coffee and soft drinks are available at Q Street café directly opposite our building and at other locations in Lostwithiel. 
MCSJ will be closed to all students between 1-2pm for lunch
Lunch must be eaten off site
You are welcome to bring a packed lunch with you or there are plenty of great cafes, pubs, outdoor areas and picnic benches available for you to enjoy within a short walking distance of MCSJ in Lostwithiel. We’re happy to provide details.
