Our Class Booking System
The server we use does store the user's "session ID" on the browser. However this is excluded from the law, according to regulation 6, paragraph 4:
(4) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to the technical storage of, or access to, information -
(a) for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network; or
(b) where such storage or access is strictly necessary for the provision of an information society service requested by the subscriber or user.
We never store information on, or read information from the client browser. The session ID is simply used to track the fact that the user has logged on. The information is discarded when the user logs off.
We embed videos from our official YouTube channel using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. On 27th May 2011, the EC introduced a directive called Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation 2011 which requires the owners of websites to get specific approval from the visitor if cookies are deployed.
At the moment, we're not in a position to meet this requirement but we're working on a plan that will allow us to comply in the near future.
