Case Study - Private Tuition
Lisa Rothwell-Young spent two days with Maria Whetman learning repousse and chasing and one day with Cliff Wightwick learning engraving. She also learned how to make her own tools and punches.
Lisa has a background in traditional jewellery making and secured a grant to attend additional training to increase her skills. After looking around for somewhere to undertake this, she found that many of the universities didn't have the flexibility to run the classes she wanted at the times to suit her. She found that MCSJ could offer her both the times she wanted and also tutors who were clearly experts in their fields.
Lisa said, "From my point of view, one to one tuition is the way to go. It does work out a bit more expensive but you get to pick the brain of the master. Yes, it's expensive but it's value for money."
